Noah Dettwiler has put the bad Barcelona weekend behind him surprisingly quickly. With a new attitude and a breath of fresh air, the 19-year-old Moto3™ World Championship rookie got off to a good start at the Gran Premio d’Italia.
Noah Dettwiler used the few days off between Barcelona and Mugello to reset himself. he KTM rider from Solothurn in Switzerland rode two decent Friday practice sessions at the beautiful race track in front of the magnificent scenery of Italy’s Tuscan countryside, although the first session in the morning began with a small problem. However, a defective sensor was quickly identified as the cause.
Dettwiler’s performance on Friday is all the more remarkable as he practically got familiarized with the ultra-fast track at the Autodromo Internationale del Mugello by his own. During both sessions, he spent most of the time on track without a fast rear wheel. Compared to free practice and Practice 1, he improved by no less than 2.4 seconds. Dettwiler thus finished the day in 21st place.
On Saturday morning, Practice 2 will decide the entry lists for Q1 and Q2.
