FIM Moto3™ World Championship – Gran Premio d’Italia
Autodromo Internationale del Mugello (Scarperia e San Piero, Italy) | Sunday, 2nd June, 2024
On race day at the Gran Premio d’Italia, Noah Dettwiler performed like a changed man. After a solid performance, the 19-year-old Swiss rider finished in the top 20 in a race that was shortened to eleven laps.
As usual for Mugello, the sixth Moto3™ race of the season got off to a very turbulent start. After an early crash involving several riders, the race was interrupted by a red flag. By this point, Noah Dettwiler had since long put Saturday’s difficulties behind him and had already made up several positions.
At the restart, the KTM rider from the French CIP Green Power Team was therefore able to start one row further forward. After another good reaction when the starting lights went out, Dettwiler made up ground in the first few laps and was immediately knocking on the door to the top 20. With a strong increase in pace and lap times compared to yesterday, he finished the race in 20th place.
Due to changes in the calendar, the championship is now taking a four-week break and will return on the traditional date of the World Championship round in the Netherlands at the end of June.
