After an early crash, the Grand Prix of Indonesia became a lonely race for Noah Dettwiler. Nevertheless, he was able to gather good information that could help him next weekend in Japan.
For Noah Dettwiler, the season’s 15th race was practically over after just five laps. Until then, the 19-year-old Swiss rider had kept up well with the riders in front of him. When a rider in front of him went a bite too wide in a corner, Dettwiler wanted to pass on the inside. In doing so, he lost control of the front. The KTM rider was unable to prevent the crash. Unfortunately for his opponent, Dettwiler’s bike slid into the other and caused the fall of the rider, who fortunately remained uninjured.
The entire paddock now travels on to Japan, where the battle for points will continue next weekend at the Twin Ring in Motegi.

«The initial phase was reasonably okay; I was able to keep up with the group and even overtake two or three times. But I had the feeling that I was always on the limit. And when I tried to push a bit harder, I crashed. I’m sorry that I caused another rider to fall. I’m a bit annoyed about the crash because I was well in the group and felt that I could keep up with the pace of the guys. That was also clear to see in the first few laps. I was able to continue after the crash, but it was a pretty lonely race for me. Nevertheless, I tried to do a few things differently in order to improve in certain areas. At least I was able to ride a consistent rhythm, even if it wasn’t very fast. It was also important for me to finish the race and keep going. »
