The Swiss Moto3™ rookie finished Sunday’s race in England in P20 after a good start, but almost collision with another rider cost him a better result.
The tenth race of the season at the traditional Silverstone Circuit had plenty of drama to offer. First of all, there was the weather, as it began to drizzle sporadically in the late morning though, the riders on the track remained pretty unimpressed and fought fiercely for positions.
19-year-old rookie Noah Dettwiler from Solothurn was also right in the thick of the action. He got off to a good start and immediately knocked on the door of the top 20, which the KTM rider reached after just a few laps. Racing in 19th position and directly behind the riders in front of him, Dettwiler made a mistake at halfway point, which left him without a chance. He then finished the race alone.

«The outcome of the weekend is obviously disappointing. I started the race well, immediately found a good rhythm and kept up well with the other riders. I am also pleased that we made a big step forward compared to yesterday, I was a second faster. It was a pity that an overtaking manoeuvre by Jacob Roulstone had negative consequences. I was able to follow him well for two or three laps until I braked a bit too late in a fast corner and got caught in his slipstream. I almost crashed into his rear. Fortunately, I just managed to avoid hitting him, but I had to swerve into the gravel and lost a good 20 seconds on that lap. After that it was a lonely race to the line. That was a shame. Looking back, Silverstone also had positive aspects. We made good steps every day, even if it was not enough. There were important steps in the right direction, which we will continue in two weeks’ time.»
