Noah Dettwiler put in a very decent performance at the Sachsenring on Sunday. Unfortunately, a crash cost him a possible result in the top 20.
A heavy thunderstorm late on Saturday afternoon cooled things down considerably on race day in Germany. Teams and riders once again had to adapt to changed conditions. Apart from that, round nine of the Moto3™ season had plenty of drama to offer, especially as many riders had to serve a penalty and the order was therefore shaken up several times.
19-year-old Noah Dettwiler quickly found a good rhythm in the turbulent first laps of the race. Starting from P22 on the grid on row eight, he quickly found himself in a position just outside the points. He was able to maintain this position until about halfway through the race, before risking a little too much in the wake of the faster and far more experienced riders.

«It’s a shame and I’m sorry for my team and everyone around me, because things were going really well for us until the crash. The first few laps were good, and my pace was strong. I was able to keep up well with my group, which included a few fast guys after they had served their penalty and were coming from behind. But I pushed a bit too hard, for which I highsided by myself at the exit of turn 4. Fortunately, the bike’s engine was still on, and I was able to finish the race. That was important to gather some more information. When I look back on the whole weekend, the race was really positive.»
