Preview GP San Marino, Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli | «Save The Date» for racing atmosphere in vacation mood

FIM Moto3™ World Championship – Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini
Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli (Misano Adriatico, Italy) | Wednesday, September 4th, 2024

This weekend in Misano, Noah Dettwiler returns to a race track on which he has already achieved considerable success, but which he once had to leave seriously injured.

With the start of the second half of the 2024 FIM Moto3™ World Championship season, the dates on the calendar are moving closer together again. The Grand Prix in Aragón and this weekend in Misano are the first pair of two consecutive races a week apart. However, everyone is happy to accept the hectic trip to Italy, as the Grand Prix of San Marino captivates with its incomparable atmosphere, which creates a lot of vacation feeling due to its proximity to the famous vacation region around Rimini on the Adriatic coast.

Although only 19 years old, world championship rookie Noah Dettwiler already has plenty to talk about when it comes to the colourful ride at the Misano circuit, which is located just a stone’s throw from the popular beaches. The race results that the KTM rider has achieved there are of course gratifying. On the other hand, the Swiss rider also has very painful memories of Misano when he suffered a complicated injury to his foot at the guest start of the Junior World Championship during the Grand Prix two years ago.

Swiss television channel SRF will broadcast the Moto3™ race from the San Marino GP live on SRF info on Sunday (10:50-11:50). Viewers from Switzerland and Austria will also be able to watch all of the weekend’s sessions on the video and streaming platform «ServusTV On», albeit only with English commentary on Friday and in German language from Saturday. In Germany, the broadcasts on Saturday and Sunday can be seen in the free live stream on ServusTV.com, while DF1 will also broadcast the Moto3™ qualifying and the race on Sunday live. Alternatively, there is also the live stream on the official MotoGP™ website, where all sessions of all classes are streamed, as at every Grand Prix. However, a paid video pass is required for this. Another option for Germany is a paid subscription to Sky Sport.

#55 Noah DETTWILER (CIP Green Power, KTM RC4):

«I am really looking forward to Misano, because being back on the bike just a few days after the Aragón GP is simply fantastic. So, I am really looking forward to it. Misano is a very cool track that I know from my time in Junior World Championship. Misano is also known for its atmosphere and unique setting, which makes this event even more exciting. I can’t wait to hop back on my bike on Friday.»

Tom LÜTHI (Sporting Coach):

«It is perfect for Noah to go straight to the next race after a solid Aragón weekend where he made good progress. There were a lot of positive things, and he did well with what he set out to do. I think it will be important for him to pick up in Misano where he left off in Aragon and that he can make further progress straight away without having to start all over again this race weekend. He must try to build on this upward trend that has hopefully now set in.»

«Misano is a beautiful circuit that Noah already knows, which is certainly an advantage. He has already achieved considerable success there, but also suffered a setback when he was injured in a Junior GP race. But I think his attitude towards this track is basically very positive. From my side, I will support him again on site, as I did last weekend in Aragón, so that we can continue and get closer to the points positions step by step
