Preview GP Malaysia, Sepang | «Save the date» for final sprint in oversea

FIM Moto3™ World Championship – Grand Prix of Malaysia
Sepang International Circuit (Sepang, Malaysia) | Wednesday, October 30th, 2024

This weekend’s Grand Prix of Malaysia marks the end of the long overseas journey in this year’s FIM Moto3™ World Championship. For newcomer Noah Dettwiler, this means finding his way around unfamiliar terrain once again.

With the race weekend at the massive Sepang International Circuit not far from Kuala Lumpur’s international airport, around 70 kilometers south of the country’s capital, the current championship is already entering its home straight. After the upcoming 19th round of the season, only the finale in Valencia in two weeks’ time remains on the calendar.

A particularly tricky task awaits Noah Dettwiler in Sepang. With 5.5 kilometers, the Sepang Circuit is one of the longest on the calendar, and the track’s width of 16 meters requires a great deal of sensitivity in order to quickly find the ideal line for his personal riding style. The hot and humid subtropical climate is a further challenge for every Sepang rookie.

Swiss television SRF will broadcast the Moto3 race live on Sunday morning as a stream on «srf.ch» (05:50-05:50). For all non-early risers, SRF zwei will broadcast a recording from 09:00 CET.
