After strongly performing on Saturday morning, Noah Dettwiler raised his hopes of making it into Q2. However, he struggled with his timing on track during the first qualifying heat.
Saturday at round eight of the FIM Moto3™ World Championship 2025 was accompanied by glorious early summer weather. Temperatures were already causing beads of sweat in the morning as the wild pack took to the 5-kilometer track at MotorLand Aragón for the second free practice session.
From Noah Dettwiler’s point of view, this session went very well. The knot seemed to have burst after the 20-year-old talent from the canton of Solothurn attracted attention with 14th place in the timesheets. The rediscovered good feeling for his KTM bike and significantly improved lap times whetted his appetite for the time attack for the best grid positions.
In Q1, however, Dettwiler did not manage to catch a fast rear wheel in either his first or second run, which is always an advantage at the long back straight in Aragón. With eleventh place, he fell short of his expectations. He will have to start from the eighth row on Sunday.
With the return of the series to mainland Europe, there are no changes to the race day schedule. SRF zwei will therefore be live on air from 10:50 a.m., as will the «ServusTV» broadcast on free-to-air television in Switzerland. «Our Saturday started well, as we were able to make a good step forward this morning’s FP2 in terms of feeling and lap times. Unfortunately, qualifying did not go as I had expected, as I was not able to position myself well out on track. That went badly. That is why the result does not look good either. Nevertheless, I think we are ready for race day. »
